(Sorry for the delay - I was driving to Vermont!)


Well, there’s no point in avoiding the tragedy that transpired in the courtyard just last night. We’ve all born witness to the monstrosity of that scene, so I will not waste my tired breath repeating the agony. Rather, this speech will bring the bittersweet life of Cecilia to a close, and with it, fourth round of dA Royale.

We, =waiting4wings and *InkSpirit, in case that needed clarification, would request that you all take a moment to remember the fine moments in the life of Cecilia, but none of you contestants had the chance to meet her. Instead, we will remind you to offer your condolences to the staff and especially to Lucette, left with a tiny spark of hope for so long. But in any case, Cecilia’s tragic death has proved as a pivotal event in the plot of all your lives, forcing Inky and I to reveal some of the secrets that have thus remained untold.

First of all, we must unveil the true purpose behind our carnival. Though some of you may have gained some inkling in the clue we let slip in the form of stamps:

…as well as other hints (those gems on your pillow, which :devtsubasa-mine later discovered to be Solomon stones, in actuality were only a foreshadowing of the true prize)…we expect the majority of your to be thoroughly confounded when we announce that the goal of dA Royale – yes, that’s right the goal – is THE CROWN. The Crown of Endelmire Manor is the long-lost heirloom of this place. The lawyer who visited our houses so many months before told us about it, immediately wetting our appetites for treasure. The crown could be yours!

We have great expectations for you all, and that is why we will begin to share the haunting tales of Endelmire Manor. Cecilia’s life was a long and tumultuous journey of passion, and sex, and love, and…well, I digress. She was the longstanding mistress of the late Lord VanDerHurst, a situation much accepted in their society. Affairs of the wife, however, are much frowned upon- but that’s a tale for another day. Cecilia, though promiscuous (that was her job, we musn’t condemn her), was the source of much of the information and gossip we heard about the castle. Mrs. Hobbs told us it was from her she had learned that the lighthouse was not original to the castle, and that Lady VanDerHurst did not sleep in the same bed as her husband.

But enough of these rumors. To put a weary smile on four of your faces, we will announce the next fighting matchups for dA Royale. Zombie Royale matchups will follow by March 21, the Saturday. Speaking of which, those four who did not go on may also join Zombie Royale this round if they act fast.

Rules: This round, employees of the castle will be judging your rounds! We really had to drag them by the ears to get them to do this, so please be courteous. Also, they are rather unexperienced with fights, to try to go easy on them and keep them out of harms way.

They will simply be monitoring to make sure of who steals the flag from the other person first. Yes – stealing the flag, like last time. You will again be fighting, but as some things went out of control last time (and we’d hate to endanger our lovely servants), please stay within sight of the castle at all times! Thank you.
