As you all filter in from your prospective spots around the world (or galaxy, as the case may be), we would like to wish you all luck throughout the upcoming year. We hope all of you enjoyed your visits home for Christmas; although it would have been easier for us to forc- that is, offer our hospitalities to you contestants this year, much of the staff felt that they wanted a much-deserved rest. While the rest of you were enjoying an awkward dinner at home, however, Inky and I were preparing some special Holiday treats for you all…

You shall find them on your pillows – each of you has been given a tiny gemstone…honestly, we found thousands of them in the cellar, and had no clue what to do with them *cough*…we’ve generously decided to give them to you. As some of you may know, the most precious treasures of this mansion are being kept safe inside the-*ahem*

The weather here has only been getting colder, we’re afraid, and the dank stone isn’t doing much to help that situation. Those of you with fireplaces in your rooms will certainly be at an advantage – but we’re sure that you’ve all made some friends...perhaps you could have a sleepover? Well, if you do find yourself getting a little shivery, do not hesitate to voyage down to the kitchen (unfortunately, two flights of stairs separate you and that place) – if you are nice, Mrs. Hobbes will usually allow you a cup of hot chocolate and seat by the large old oven that lies therein. Perhaps you could even have a chat?

We’d love to invite you all down for tea tomorrow afternoon in the Great Hall for a post-Christmas celebration. We certainly could use a little relaxing time, and you all must as well, having just journeyed a long ways to return to Endelmire Manor and survived the great ordeal that is a family at Christmastime. We hope to see you all at four o’clock, then!
