dA Royale Begins!

<sub>dA Royale is a new artistic competition brought into being because of the termination of the Fall Out Fights ([link]). It is designed for the people who would still like to continue in that tournament, but of course, new members are welcome and encouraged! It is hosted by two leaders with equal power: ~InkSpirit and ~waiting4wings Together, the two hosts, each posting journals in an effort to keep people more easily posted will help bring dA royale to life!

The Low-Down on dA Royale Tournament

This competition will require graphic entries (that means no literature, please!) each round. Each round the entrants will be given an opponent to draw deuling your character (If you enter more than one character, please keep battles down to one-on-one. This will make it fair – you may include the other characters watching, though!) These battles must take place in graphic novel form – no one panel entries, please. Each of the battles will take place in a differently themed place like a school or under the ocean. It’s up to you to use your surroundings to your advantage! After all the entries have been posted (ones that have not been posted before the due date will be forfeits, we’re sorry!) and we have been notified of their existence, we will vote.

NOTING US: If you wish to note us about the dA Royale Tournament please indicate this in your header of the note, writing something like, "dA Royale Tournament Question!"

Voting

Voting is a very important part of the tournament. We (~InkSpirit and ~waiting4wings) will each post the lists of the entrants and their entries and the competitors will vote on it, commenting in a list form like this.

And so forth and so on. There is no penalty for not voting, but if you did not vote and we have a tie on your entry, you will forfeit the match. So, we strongly encourage voting. Also, not voting will result in you not being eligible for the dA Royale Spirit prize.
The people who win the votes will proceed to the next round, where they will be matched up and themes will be given again. Those who lose the round will have the opportunity to join Zombie Royale, where they will also be paired up!

The Lie-Down on Zombie Royale

The losers of dA Royale will have an opportunity to rise from the dead (get it, Zombie Royale?!?!) and fight against other people who have been eliminated from Zombie Royale. This is a branch of dA Royale that is also sponsored by ~waiting4wings and ~InkSpirit. For people who cannot continue in dA Royale, it would be great if they would compete in Zombie Royale, where there are no winners and losers, but the entrants can still win random prizes just for drawing entries every round. Also, if you wish to compete in Zombie Royale without first competing in dA Royale, feel free to join into the competitions, which will begin after the first round of dA Royale.

Prizes

Prizes include but are not limited to in any means (because we all know you guys love prizes!),

For the dA Royale champion: 2 full color background pictures of your winning character
For the dA Royale runner-up: 2 full color no background pictures of your fighting character
For Three Random dA or Zombie Fighters: 1 full-body picture of your character in various drawing styles
For the dA Spirit Fighter(s): A full-body simple background picture of your character in various drawing styles

For most of the rounds, random dA or Zombie fighters who are and have been participating will be selected to win the prizes above. The spirit prize will be awarded to a fighter who is consistently active throughout the competition, promotes the competition, and is helpful and positive towards the other fighters. So, if you’re “in it to win it” this is your chance! Prizes abound! They will be drawn by ~waiting4wings, ~InkSpirit, or a group of volunteers.

How to Enter Your Character(s):

You simply have to send a reference sheet to [link] or [link] of the character or characters you want to enter. You may enter no more than 3 characters, but as little as one character. The list of current dA Royale and Zombie Royale entrants will be posted as entries are received.
