Alright, well, I've been in and out of, well, pretty much life in general this past school year, but next year will be a year for art. To kick it off, I'm going to challenge myself with offering 5 FREE sketches. It'll be interesting to see how I add them to the list of stuff that I have to do (I'm working at [link] this summer, like I have been this past year) but I'm definitely going to finish these sketches.

I'm taking AP Studio Art next year, so if any of you guys out there have been through the program and have any advice, I would really appreciate it. I've got some summer assignments to work on, but I am also returning to Putney ( [link] ) for three weeks. But from now until Saturday, I'll be open to sketching stuff for my watchers.

Okay, so people have been asking for trades instead, which is kind of a separate thing - more intricate than just a sketch, basically - so unless any of you guys asking for trades want to request a sketch, I'm going to bump the people after you into your spots and deal with our trade arrangements later. Please tell me.

Sounds pretty cool, right? So here's the story:

There's this wonderful girl, ~patchjacket who is going through a pretty tough financial time right now...actually, pretty tough is an understatement. Yeah, yeah, I know - how many requests for money do you hear on dA?! But this girl is special. She's a wizard with an ukelele (check out her youtube account: [link])...I mean, she even got a shout out on fabulist.org ([link])!

And...she'll play a song for you if you wire 3 bucks to her PayPal. You're account has to be able to send money out (I figured that out the hard way!) so be sure you're hooked up to a bank. That alone is pretty sweet, but if you give her anything more than that she'll write up a little tune JUST FOR YOU! Which is totally sweet!

Well, it's a new year, and the chronic lack of journals is annoying, even to me (although I usually don't like to bother people).

I've been having some emotional and physical issues, but I'm hoping that 2009 will be better. (Thanks and , you know how you've helped.) I'm sorry for the lack of deviations, I've been drawing, but nothing seems good enough to post right now. I've been fervently oil pastelling, though. Jerry's Artarama is an amazing store, and I got a set of 48 for about 8 dollars, and bulk packs of stretched canvases. Jeez, it's amazing - go check it out! I also got most of my presents for 's 16th birthday there...I'm hoping she'll share those oil paints, hehe.

I'm doing posters for our high school production of Kiss Me Kate...I'm very excited, but I have to get cracking. None of this last minute stuff (but we'll see how that actually goes).

I'll be returning to Putney again (hopefully) for the second semester. I'm hoping for AM Ceramics (I mean, making 17 pieces was probably the highlight of my year) and PM Painting (I've got to do some practicing first!) But really, I'll just be happy to go.

So, it'll be a busy few months (I didn't even mention school and running, but they're huge commitments now, too). With luck I'll get back to my job at the studio so I can make some money or at least take a free painting class or two.

So now I'm 15...as of September 4th...I know Allie (*babyfox) has a lot more to gripe about as far as age - but I feel really old. When I was little, 14 was the age I would always make my stuffed animals...it seemed so unattainable! And now I'm older? Well, enough angst.

My dad, who's a wonderful nerd (I know exactly where I got it) just gave me Spore for my birthday - it's this new game that has evolution in it! In your face, creationists! So yeah, you make this cell and then it evolves and you can make a society and whatnot. He read this review of it by his friend (Dad's a science journalist) and gave it to me before I'd even heard of it. Haha.

Sophomore year has been pretty chill so far (it started on my birthday) and I'm optimistic for it. I've got the schedule-juggling down pretty well, though I had to turn down my dream job at an art studio to complete my cross-country season. But I think I may do track in a smaller capacity, so I can take the job in time for the winter and spring classes. :/
